"Military Thermal Inspired Knit"
This pullover knit is inspired by the 1960s US ARMY thermal and reinterpreted using wool. It features a textured stitch known as "pique knit," reminiscent of the speckled patterns seen on young deer, which preserves the thermal’s character while adding the unique texture of knitwear. The raised pattern reduces contact with the skin, minimizing the itchiness often associated with wool sweaters. While rooted in military inspiration, this piece is designed to look clean, refined, and sophisticated.

"Essence of BARNS OUTFITTERS"
At first glance, this knit appears to be a simple pique-knit design. However, on closer inspection, subtle details reveal the signature touches of BARNS OUTFITTERS. Around the neckline, a V-gusset is expressed through a change in the knit pattern—a nod to the brand’s popular sweatshirts. Because the pattern change is in the same color, it’s not immediately noticeable, yet it embodies the brand’s thoughtful craftsmanship. Additionally, pique knitting offers less horizontal stretch compared to other knitting techniques, making the garment more resistant to deformation and durable for long-term wear.
The fit is designed with a bit more room rather than the snug fit typical of waffle or knitwear. This slightly relaxed sizing compensates for the limited horizontal stretch inherent to pique knitting, addressing its usual drawback.
The cuffs feature a subtle change in the knit pattern, adding a small but distinctive accent. They are set with just the right tension, so even when you roll up the sleeves, they stay in place without easily slipping down.
The hem is deliberately left without a ribbing, allowing the piece to be worn with the ease and feel of a T-shirt.
This simple pique-knit sweater can take center stage in your autumn outfits, and in winter, it works perfectly as a long-lasting layering piece.
