"The Origin: Steamboat Willie"
We are proud to introduce an Official Site Exclusive featuring the legendary debut of Mickey Mouse: "Steamboat Willie." This special piece captures an iconic scene from the 1928 masterpiece, reimagined through the rugged, vintage lens of BARNS OUTFITTERS.
The garment is crafted from our signature 16-count BD (Open-end) yarn, creating a fabric that is neither too heavy nor too light, but perfectly balanced. The unique structure of the yarn—hard on the outside and soft on the inside—delivers that crisp, dry texture synonymous with vintage American tees. Finished with a specialized pigment-dye process, this shirt is designed to evolve. As you wear and wash it, the fabric will tighten and the colors will beautifully fade, allowing you to enjoy a one-of-a-kind aging process that mirrors the history of the animation itself.

"『Steamboat Willie』"
Released on November 18, 1928, Steamboat Willie is more than just Mickey Mouse’s debut—it is a cinematic masterpiece that forever changed the world of animation. This film earned its legendary status as the world’s first cartoon to feature fully synchronized sound, seamlessly linking audio and visuals for the first time. The sight and sound of Mickey lightheartedly whistling while at the helm of his ship brought a sense of wonder and joy to audiences across the globe.
To honor the heritage of this nearly century-old icon, we’ve utilized a "Crack" print for the graphic. This technique creates a weathered, fractured texture that mimics the natural aging of a vintage garment, giving the piece a profound sense of history that perfectly complements the 1928 origin of the design.
To ensure it stands up to heavy wear, we’ve finished the collar with a clean yet rugged binder neck specification.
Crafted with a perfectly balanced, relaxed fit, this piece is designed to stand alone as a complete statement. The thoughtful cut ensures the fabric never clings to your skin, providing a breathable, airy feel that stays comfortable even in the peak of summer.
Recreating the spirit of vintage USA tees with crisp 16-count BD yarn. The pigment-dyed fabric offers a beautiful faded look that gets even better over time. Enjoy the unique aging process as the color mellows with every wear.
