"Vintage-Inspired T-Shirt"
A defining feature of classic vintage tees is seamless side construction, known as tubular or "tube" body. Since it required no side seams and was well-suited for mass production, tubular construction was standard for American T-shirts back in the day. Over time, however, side-seam construction became the norm to accommodate a wider variety of fits and sizes.
To recreate the authentic feel of those vintage classics, the TUBE T-shirt series returns this year?crafted with 16-gauge BD open-end yarn, seamless tubular construction, and a rich, faded finish achieved through pigment dyeing.

"Recreating American Vintage"
Tubular body construction?featuring no side seams?was a standard detail for mass-produced graphic tees during an era defined by high-volume manufacturing and efficiency. The Tube Tee series pays painstaking attention to detail to capture that authentic period vibe. Rather than the binder neck construction frequently used by BARNS OUTFITTERS, this tee features a simple 2-needle coverstitch collar. It is small, intentional details like this that truly evoke the atmosphere of the era.
Designed with a relaxed yet perfectly balanced silhouette, this versatile piece works great on its own or layered under a shirt or cardigan?effortlessly pairing with a wide range of styles.
Crafted with a seamless tubular knit body, this tee eliminates side seams for a smooth feel against the skin and a completely stress-free fit.
Pigment-dyed on the surface and treated with a vintage wash, this fabric captures the rich, faded patina characteristic of authentic vintage garments.
To recreate the authentic feel of classic American-made tees, this fabric is crafted from dry, crisp 16-count BD open-end yarn. It is then pigment-dyed to capture a rich, vintage-like faded finish. With repeated wear and washing, the color gently fades over time, allowing you to enjoy a unique, one-of-a-kind patina as it ages.
