"A Modern Refinement of Classic Waffle Thermal"
Inspired by archival vintage pieces, this top has been re-engineered with a contemporary relaxed fit. Characterized by its grid-like textured face, this knit?officially known as "thermal"?delivers exceptional heat retention. The raised sections sit gently against the skin while the recessed grids trap warm air, making it an essential cold-weather base layer originally issued to soldiers stationed in sub-zero battlefields during wartime.
While traditional thermals functioned strictly as skin-tight undershirts, BARNS OUTFITTERS has tuned the fabric weight and silhouette so it effortlessly stands alone as a standalone piece. The result is a substantial, exceptionally soft thermal knit crafted for superior daily comfort. Surpassing crew necks in popularity over recent seasons, our much-anticipated Henley neck thermal is finally here.

"Clean Simplicity with a Standalone Fit"
At first glance, it looks like a clean, minimal? henley neck thermal tee. But we’ve stripped away the skin-tight squeeze of traditional military undershirts, fine-tuning the proportions to hit the sweet spot for standalone wear. While retaining the hearty, substantial weight of waffle knits, the silhouette gets a fresh, modern overhaul. This piece delivers a contemporary feel distinct from our permanent thermal line?a true modern iteration of BARNS OUTFITTERS craftsmanship. Capturing the soaring popularity of Henley necks in recent seasons, this piece is elevated with classic twin cat’s eye buttons for a refined vintage edge.
Achieved through relentless fine-tuning, this silhouette hits the sweet spot?refined and comfortable without straying into overly baggy or oversized territory.
Fitted ribbed cuffs keep your sleeves neatly in place without riding up or slipping down. A thoughtful feature that works effortlessly whether styled on its own or layered under a jacket.
Waffle knits naturally trap warmth to deliver exceptional thermal insulation. On top of that, a specialized softening wash eliminates any stiff, bulky feel, ensuring buttery-smooth comfort when worn as a base layer.
